Rotors and Pads for Heavy Duty Tracking, Hauling, and Towing

Heavy duty applications require specialized rotor/pad braking kits that can endure high loads and provide a reliable service. To meet the demand, AllRotors application engineers have developed a custom brake kit for heavy-duty tracking, high-load hauling, and towing. The kit combines our Premium Drilled & Slotted GEOMET-coated rotors and Premium-Plus Semi-Metallic Pads.                            

The coated drilled and slotted rotors increase the friction (i.e. braking power) by enhancing the expulsion of dust, moisture, and braking gases, that are otherwise trapped on the surface between the pads and the rotor. These rotors perform especially well in rainy conditions since the holes provide an escape path for water, and a dryer breaking surface ultimately improves the rotor performance. The heavy breaking can overheat the pads creating a glazing surface layer with reduced coefficient of friction, diminishing the breaking power. The slots on our rotors are designed to shave-off this heat glazing and expose the fresh high-friction pad material. 

The Semi-Metallic pads were purposely chosen over their ceramic counterparts for their versatility, better heat removal properties to lower the chance of rotor warping, and higher overall braking power. The metal content allows for a high thermal threshold, wider thermal operating range, and the superior cold bite in comparison to ceramic pads. It is important to note, that the metallic pads would wear quicker than ceramic pads. However, semi-metallic pads are more cost-effective and are specifically chosen to be a reliable sacrificial element. These pads would better protect your high-end rotors, and can be easily replaced during the monthly maintenance inspections.
